B2B Development Lead (Forward Deployment Engineer)
BetterX is seeking our first B2B Development Lead to spearhead our Forward Deployment Engineering division. We are an AI-native platform deploying intelligent agents within real service businesses—delivering Service-as-Software solutions where the agents perform the work, not merely assist with it. This role operates within our dual go-to-market strategy: while our engineering and marketing teams bring proprietary software to market, the B2B Development division delivers mainstream AI tools directly to business owners, enabling them to operate at enterprise-grade efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Lead client engagements to deploy and configure AI-powered solutions for service businesses
- Assess client operational workflows and identify high-impact automation opportunities
- Implement and customize AI agent deployments using mainstream AI tools and platforms
- Develop and deliver training programs to enable clients to operate AI systems independently
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to inform product development based on field insights
- Build and maintain technical documentation and deployment playbooks
- Establish best practices for AI implementation across diverse business environments
What You Bring
- Demonstrated expertise with mainstream AI tools and platforms (not theoretical—production-level proficiency required)
- Proven track record of deploying technology solutions in business environments
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to bridge complex systems and business operations
- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills
- Self-directed with exceptional problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-autonomy startup environment
- Experience working directly with business owners and operational stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Background in consulting, solutions engineering, or technical sales
- Experience in service industry operations (automotive, healthcare, hospitality, etc.)
- Familiarity with workflow automation and business process optimization
- Prior startup or early-stage company experience
- Portfolio of AI-powered solutions or automations you have built and deployed
